If you are doing simple DIY home improvement projects that would be impossible without some necessary tools. To put up, say, a bookshelf, you're definitely going to at least need a pencil, a leveler, and a tape measure. If you're alone, getting those measurements can be a little tricky...that is, if you don't know how to really maximize your tape measure's potential. Those bits and bobs you thought were purely superficial are actually very intentional utilitarian elements.
